Nordic Walking, the new trend sport from Finland. In the holiday region Lake Klopein – South Carinthia the First Nordic Walking World Championships takes place in cooperation with the ANWA (Austrian Nordic Walking Association), taking place from September 12 – 14, 2008. There will be 2 competitions: "Cross Country" and "Nordic Hill Walking". The "Cross Country Competition" takes place on mainly flat ground profile the "Nordic Hill Walking Competition" is a rather challenging competition on mountain trails. 
Performance Classes:
1. Professionals: Ladies and Gents (certified NW-trainers, guides, instructors, etc)
2. Fun-Walkers, Ladies and Gents (for all participants without professional background
3. Team-Class: Business and hobby teams, each team five participants - ladies, gents or mixed Valuation per performance class:
- Single-valuation with professionals and fun-walkers - Team-valuation: the four best times will be added and valued (mixed teams: 2 per gender) Starting fee for each competition: Registration until 30.06.: 15,- € after 01.07.: 20,- € after 01.09. until 09.09.: 25,- € Registration until 1 hour before start: 30,- € (late registration) Any modification will be counted as a new registration and costs € 30. - There is a shuttle for every participant from Lake Klopein (St. Kanzian, Eberndorf) to the start at approx. 7 a.m. at each day of competition (exact departure time 10 days before the event on www.klopeinersee.at)
- Limited parking space at the start/goal area!
